The Pattern Room — Our Story

Our Story

Who Make It

The Craft

The Founder

A Career Spent Inside the Product

The Pattern Room was founded by Samuel Parlier — not a designer who studied furniture from a distance, but someone who grew up inside a manufacturing facility and spent over a decade working across every dimension of the industry: production, materials sourcing, vendor relations, marketing, and business development.

That depth of experience means something. He knows which frame joints determine longevity, which foam densities perform at the highest level, and what separates a piece that lasts twenty years from one that doesn't. That knowledge lives in every piece The Pattern Room makes.

The Conviction

What We Believe Furniture Should Be

Somewhere along the way, the furniture industry lost its connection to craft. The biggest companies became marketing operations — beautiful imagery, but the people making the decisions about construction and materials are often far removed from the product itself. The expertise that once defined the industry has quietly disappeared from the brands that need it most.

The Pattern Room was built to be different. Here, the person who understands manufacturing is also the person making the design decisions. That's not a business strategy — it's the only way I know how to make furniture I'm proud of.

Craftsmanship

The Advantage

Craft Meets New Technology

The Pattern Room combines deep knowledge of traditional furniture manufacturing with proprietary technologies developed in-house to push the craft forward. This isn't about replacing what works — it's about elevating it. More precise material selection, advanced design development, and a level of quality control that is unmatched in the industry.

The result is furniture built on decades of proven process, refined by tools that allow the company to achieve things the industry hasn't seen before.

Our Standard

The Pattern Room Difference

We Know What's Inside

Every material, every joint, every layer — we understand exactly what's in your furniture and why it's there. That knowledge is our foundation.

Honest Materials, Named Specifically

We specify which travertine, which oak, which velvet. No vague descriptions. No ambiguity. The materials speak for themselves.

Made to Order

Every piece is built when you order it — in the exact configuration, fabric, and finish you chose. Your furniture is produced for you, and only for you.

Old Knowledge, New Tools

Decades of manufacturing expertise combined with proprietary technologies developed in-house. The craft evolves. The standard only goes up.

"I started The Pattern Room because I believe the best furniture comes from people who have actually built it. Not designed it from a distance. Not outsourced the details. Built it — with their own hands, their own knowledge, and their own standard for what exceptional means."
